NE/XO Agritecture: An Agricultural Science Complex
NE/XO Agritecture is an exploration of a designed environment which integrates new forms of urban farming techniques and facilities, enabling agriculture to be presented as a tourist destination. Its site, the Science City of Muñoz, Nueva Ecija in the Philippines, is home to different research institutions where traditional and modern farming and livelihood are observed. It only seems fitting that the advancement in technology and agricultural techniques of these institutions can be applied and exhibited for general viewing and patronage. NE/XO Agritecture becomes the platform for large-scale agricultural fairs and expositions, not only for the city, but for the country as a whole. The architecture – a building-integrated agriculture – helps identify the city as a top-notch research and development site, allowing the city to live up to its name as a science city.

By allowing people to look at agriculture in a different light through its integration with architecture and planning, NE/XO Agritecture becomes a venue for urban farming to bloom and thrive within the context of local and international tourism. NE/XO Agritecture can inspire more ideas and future trajectories for the agriculture sector, as its architecture encourages meaningful social interaction among experts, entrepreneurs, agriculturists, enthusiasts and the general public. NE/XO Agritecture serves as a good model for green marketing strategies through infrastructure, lifestyle and practices for sustainability.
